Automatic Test Equipment for Allied-Signal

Our assignment here was to create a baseline system of automatic test equipment for use on the manufacturing floor and test stations.  This was another rapid prototyping task; however, this one had a 45 day deadline.  This was a concurrent design environment.  A 3rd party supplied the PC and some of the hardware.  The customer provided proprietary interfaces, and JEPSAN Group was responsible for providing all the software (operating system, drivers, and applications software).

A real-time system was developed that controls test equipment for position transmitter devices and indicators.  The package contained hardware for Input/Output controlling relays, electric power and high resolution motors.  The system controlled drive motor position and I/O with synchros,  rotory variable differential transmitters (RVDT), analog-to-digital, and digital-to-analog converters.  The application software provided a man/machine interface allowing calibration of six different devices.  Unattended Acceptance Test Procedures were also included.

The executive, drivers,  and all application software was produced using JEPSAN's own Windows design, object oriented design, and C++.
